The LMA toddler program begins by establishing a classroom setting that mirrors the home. It is a place where children 15 months to 3 years can explore the world together. This Montessori Toddler environment provides the children with a safe place to develop a positive self image, social skills, motor dexterity and encourage the development of their intelligence. In this carefully prepared environment, the toddlers will participate in purposeful activity that promotes peaceful interaction with their peers. The Toddler directress will prepare the child to enter the primary classroom by nurturing the child’s curiosity and love of learning. The Toddler Program is the foundation which will provide a smooth transition into the more advanced Primary Program.

The Montessori Primary curriculum is designed to assist the child in developing a positive self image with a firm intellectual foundation which are the building blocks for success in life. Academics are introduced through the use of manipulative concrete materials which educate the child’s senses and set the basis for the development of future abstract concepts.

Our primary classroom environments contain a large variety of activities within five areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math and Cultural. Children are free to choose an activity of interest to them which sparks spontaneous manipulation of the beautiful Montessori materials. The use of these materials in this secure and welcoming environment establishes within the child a love and excitement of learning. Dr. Maria Montessori’s educational principles have been proven successful. The results are academic excellence and a passion for learning, which is evident in the sheer joy seen in the faces of the children as they eagerly enter our specially prepared environments every day.

Learning does not stop at the conclusion of our school day. Our afterschool enrichment program provides continuity between the child’s classroom experience and after school activities. We strive to create a joyful, caring, respectful environment where students are encouraged to enjoy fun activities such as arts and crafts, large and small group games, music enrichment and Science activities.

Legacy Montessori proudly offers a variety of after school programs for elementary children. Each day the children may choose to participate in our regular after school recreation program which includes: sports, games, arts and crafts, homework club, foreign languages club, computers, Science Club and free play.

Our summer session includes a range of fun and stimulating sessions in summer camps, sports, arts, music, karate, outdoor education, and academic enrichment. With flexible, full-day programs, each with a special theme, you have the flexibility to plan an active, exciting, and educational summer for your child.
